reCAPTCHA, Inc was a 2008 spin off from the Computer Sciences department at Carnegie-Mellon University (www.recaptcha.net/).
In April of 2009 Denis starting working with reCAPTCHA to help build the company. On September 16, 2009 Google acquired reCAPTCHA. Denis supported reCAPTCHA through the acquistion and due diligence process. Here is what the key reCAPTCHA people had to say about his work:
